David Bowie tribute album tracklisting announced
The tracklisting for a forthcoming David Bowie tribute album has been announced, reports StrangeGlue.com. Featuring the likes of MGMT, A Place To Bury Strangers, Soulwax and Duran Duran, the album also includes a Spanish version of 'Sound + Vision' by Devendra Banhart's Megapuss, and also 'Red Money' by Swahili Blonde and John Frusciante.
Set for release in May, the record boasts a 28-song tracklisting, with all proceeds going to charity Warchild.

Hello All!!
Happy 2010!! I am happy to announce to release of my new single "Love Somebody" exclusively on iTunes. I had the pleasure of working with the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA this past year and I was blown away by what an amazing non-profit organization it is. I decided that in the spirit of my song, we should all try to share the love and give a little to help those in need...So I thought of an easy way for all of my fans to be a part of the giving. All the proceeds of my song "Love Somebody" will go to benefit the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA. The SPCA is a non-profit animal welfare organization that provides a safe environment for lost, abandoned, and homeless animals. Heroes was the Most Pirated Show of 2009 Overall, sci-fi and action dominated the list of most-pirated shows, with Lost (6,310,000 downloads), Prison Break (3,450,000), Dexter (2,780,000), and House (2,590,000) rounding out the top five. Eight of the top ten entries were broadcast shows, and two were premium-cable shows ( Dexter and no. 10 True Blood), indicating that TV piracy isn't committed primarily by those who don't want to pay extra for HBO and Showtime, but rather by those who don't want to pay for cable at all and are willing to watch on their dinky computer monitors. And while online piracy is thought to be the realm of the male basement nerd, both Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives made the top ten list. Either female basement nerds are getting into the act too, or the guys out there are getting soft. That's what happens when you dudes gender-swap and level a female night elf to 70 in World of Warcraft. Overall, the takeaway from these numbers isn't that there are millions of horrible people out there stealing TV (a large chunk of the downloads is thought to be from foreign markets that can't get the shows legally), it's this: Television viewing habits are changing. Networks shouldn't be looking for ways to stop illegal downloading, but rather to find a way to make it work to their advantage. The list:

EYELINER and outrageous outfits unite LADY GAGA and BOY GEORGE. And they've both been mistaken for the opposite sex too.
Now though, the pair are planning to team up - and GaGa will make a childhood dream come true by getting George to join her on stage at London's O2 Arena in February.
The singer has spoken in the past about George's influence on her when she was growing up.
A source said: "GaGa has always been a fan and now he's got his life back on track it's the perfect opportunity to do something with him."
She is also casting the video for single Alejandro - and is eyeing DAVID WALLIAMS' girlfriend LARA STONE.

Has Michelle Pfeiffer been on a long vacation? She looked GORGEOUS as she walked down a street in Beverly Hills today. She showed off a new shorter and straighter hairdo that practically took ten years off of her!
Up next for the veteran actress is a rumored role in Splendid Films, How to Make Love Like an Englishman. She will co-star alongside the hunky Pierce Brosnan who plays an English literature professor who embarks on an affair with the mother of his much younger former wife.
I’ve yet to hear of a confirmation of her signing on to the film but a girl can hope.

This week the New York Times reported a disheartening story about two of the largest retail chains. You see, instead of taking unsold items to sample sales or donating them to people in need, H&M and Wal-Mart have been throwing them out in giant trash bags. And in the case that someone may stumble on these bags and try to keep or re-sell the items, these companies have gone ahead and slashed up garments, cut off the sleeves of coats, and sliced holes in shoes so they are unwearable.
This unsettling discovery was made by graduate student Cynthia Magnus outside the back entrance of H&M on 35th street in New York City. Just a few doors down, she also found hundreds of Wal-Mart tagged items with holes made in them that were dumped by a contractor. On December 7, she spotted 20 bags of clothing outside of H&M including, "gloves with the fingers cut off, warm socks, cute patent leather Mary Jane school shoes, maybe for fourth graders, with the instep cut up with a scissor, men’s jackets, slashed across the body and the arms. The puffy fiber fill was coming out in big white cotton balls.”
The New York Times points out that one-third of the city's population is poor, which makes this behavior not only wasteful and sad, but downright irresponsible. Wal-Mart spokeswoman, Melissa Hill, acted surprised that these items were found, claiming they typically donate all unworn merchandise to charity. When reporters went around the corner from H&M to a collections drop-off for charity organization New York Cares, spokesperson Colleen Farrell said, “We’d be glad to take unworn coats, and companies often send them to us."
After several days of no response from H&M, the company made a statement today, promising to stop destroying the garments at the midtown Manhattan location. They said they will donate the items to charity. H&M spokeswoman Nicole Christie said, "It will not happen again," and that the company would make sure none of the other locations would do so either. Hopefully that's the final word.

So basically the Paley Center for Media is like a museum for TV shows. They have panels like Comic-Con and people get to ask questions after a moderator asks questions about the shows, their developments, the cast, etc etc.
Today, they had a panel that featured the cast of the TV show How I Met Your Mother. People who had tickets got to watch a screening of the 100th episode and ask questions, etc. If you want to read about the highlights of the panel, click here (it's their twitter - they had live updates as the panel was going on).
Every year Paley has a thing called PaleyFest, which features a bunch of panels for hit TV shows. So far, the Paley Center has added these shows to the PaleyFest 2010 line-up: Modern Family, LOST, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Glee, The Vampire Diaries and Dexter. The full line-up will be announced on their website at 01/20/10, so remember to check for that. Member tickets go on sale 01/22/10, and general public tickets go on sale 01/24/10.
In the past, the Paley Center has featured TV shows like House, True Blood, Parks & Recreation, Community, Pushing Daisies, Gossip Girl, Mad Men, Fringe, Big Love, The Hills, 90210, Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Ugly Betty, Monk, and more. To see past videos of these panels, visit their website or their YouTube channel!
Also, Paley Center actually has a location in NY, too, but idk what is happening there.

I went to one of these things for Parks & Recreation and I actually got tickets really late and they ended up being closed-circuit, meaning I had to watch the whole thing in a room. But after it was over they all came out and took pictures and stuff. Aziz was hilarious. I wanted to meet Amy of course but she dodged out of there from the back door I think. Met Paul Schneider, the guy who plays Mark (Ann's boyfriend). He insisted on taking a picture with me and my friend lol. "Cool! I got both of my chins in the picture!"
